祝　第３回　世界のウチナーンチュの日2019
エッセイ/ポエム/琉歌/俳句/写真/絵画募集！

ハイサイ、チャーガンジュー？ 2016年に行われた世界のウチナーンチュ大会において、 10月30日は “世界のウチナーンチュの日”に制定されました。毎年その日は、世界中のウチナーンチュがウチナーンチュであることを誇りに思いお祝いします。

ワシントンDC沖縄会も世界のウチナーンチュの日を祝うランチョンを各地域で行ってきましたが、今年は少し志向を変えてみました。これから沖縄会を引き継いでいく、ウチナーンチュ ニーセーターとワラビンチャー（若者と子供達）も全員参加できる様に、“ウチナーンチュアイデンティティーとは何か？”というテーマで、エッセイ、ポエム、 俳句、 琉歌、 写真、 絵画などあなたの作品を募集します。

エッセイと言っても堅苦しく考える必要はありません。あなたがウチナーンチュだと感じる瞬間、ウチナーンチュであることを誇りに思うとき、思っている事、感じている事を、簡単な文章で表現してみて下さい。小学生のお子さんがいる家庭では、子供達に、沖縄と聞いて連想する物や景色などの絵を描いてもらっても構いません。全作品は、Eメールと郵送の両方で受付けます。ソーシャルメディアでも受付けます！フェイスブックやインスタグラムをご利用の方は、沖縄会のアカウントに作品を投稿して下さい！これはコンテストではありませんので、会員の皆さん、どうぞ気軽にどんどん応募して下さい！応募作品を２０２０年の新春会の会場にて展示する事を考えています。応募締切日は、ウチナーンチュの日の10月３０日（水曜日）です。何か質問などがありましたら、あきこクリフォード までお問い合わせ下さい。よろしくお願いします。

Haisai, chāganjyū?

At the 6th World Uchinānchu Festival in 2016, October 30th was designated as World Uchinānchu Day. On this day, Uchinānchu celebrate their pride in being Uchinānchu. In the past, our Okinawa Kai of Washington D.C. has been hosting luncheons to celebrate World Uchinānchu Day. This year, we, Okinawa Kai of Washington DC, would like to create another opportunity.

Instead of hosting a luncheon, we would like to give our members a chance to submit their individual ideas, literature or artwork. The theme for activity is “What is Uchinānchu Identity?”. In other words, what are the first images and thoughts that come to your mind when you think of your Uchinānchu identity. Submissions can include essay, poem, haiku, ryuka, photography, painting, and other artwork. Free creativity and informality is encouraged for expressing your individual ideas and feelings about being an Uchinānchu. Families are encouraged to submit their young children’s drawings or other creative works.  All entries can be submitted by email or postal mail. (Please see address below)

We also accept them through our social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram. If you decide to use Facebook, please follow us and post your work to our Okinawa Kai timeline. For those choosing to use Instagram, please follow the following rules below. THIS IS NOT A CONTEST!! So please feel free to submit your work as often as you would like! We are thinking of displaying your artwork at Shin Shun Kai 2020.
